Elizabeth and Gabe - part 1
To say I was honored to be asked to photograph the wedding of Elizabeth and Gabe is an understatement. Honored, humbled, thrilled, even scared, the list could go on and on. I have known the Bride her entire life. Her parents called me their "adopted daughter" until Elizabeth was born into this family of three older brothers. You could say in some ways I had been replaced and had to step aside for sweet baby girl Elizabeth, but I didn't mind. Have you seen those eyes? How could you say no to her? I was blessed enough to know the love of her parents Clayton and Paula Narron as if they were my own parents and was thrilled another child would get to feel this love too.
So that was the first great news, that I would get to photograph Elizabeth's wedding. Second great news, the wedding and reception would take place at her family home in Smithfield, NC. This home has been a home to me, I know all it's nooks and crannies and have memories in every room. But the joy stood not just in my personal attachment and childhood nostalgia, but Oh my! The beauty of this house!!!! Build in the late 1800s I believe, this home is the perfect example of a Victorian house. As long as I can remember it has been painted white with black shutters. The front brick walkway leads you to the porch with two huge wooden doors, a warm sun room on the left, an ivy and brick wall lining the sidewalk with a white picked fence creating its borders on the sides, and in the back- a well.
Guys, it gets better. Third great news, her middle older brother Carson, would be officiating the wedding! Can it get any more special!!!? Nope. I have walked along with Carson on his journey of faith, love, and life. I even was honored enough to officiate his wedding four years prior. But to hear his reason for saying yes to officiating his baby sister's wedding, "I struggled with this decision, but I wanted to make sure Jesus was a part of the service and their marriage. I feel responsible for every wedding I do. Responsible that their marriage lasts." It doesn't get any more amazing than this!
And best of all, there is Gabe. He fits right into this family of tall boys with sweet smiles. He adores Elizabeth as you can see with every glance he makes towards her. He has good character and great dance moves ( they met at a country concert). He will take care of her the way she was meant to be taken care of -with love, devotion, commitment, patience, joy, and faith.
